How to Use Your Medical Insurance or Vision Insurance
We know that students are often on a tight budget, and the cost of eye care and eyewear can be steep. For most people though, insurance can reduce the costs significantly.
If you have vision insurance, many routine eye care services are generally discounted, along with prescription eyewear. In comparison, a medical health insurance plan usually protects against financial losses caused by unexpected eye injuries or disease. At Regional Eye Center, we provide both routine and medical eye care, which means that we accept a broad range of insurance plans to help you afford the vision services you need.
Check out a list of the plans we accept. If your insurance is not listed – please contact our office for assistance; we do accept other plans too. Our staff is always pleased to explain the details and benefits of student insurance plans to our patients from Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW).
Highlights of Campus Life
Students at Georgia Southwestern State University can live in one of three different residential communities: Southwestern Oaks, Southwestern Pines, and Southwestern Magnolia. All of these residences offer various comfy living options, with hall rooms, suites, and apartments. In addition to being a place to sleep, these communities give GSW students a chance to socialize and learn outside of the classroom – with common rooms, rec areas, computer labs, and study lounges. The Student Success Center is another popular place on campus, home to the fantastic GSW Fitness Center (with a climbing wall, racquetball courts, gym, aerobics room, and game room). With a long list of majors and Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Nursing, Education, Fine Arts and more, Georgia Southwestern State University is ranked as one of the best-value small colleges in the country.
While the Herschel A. Smith Health Clinic provides comprehensive, quality healthcare services to GSW students on campus, it may not offer all the vision care that you need. Our eye doctors welcome students to visit for eye exams, new eyewear, and any type of medical eye care. In the event of an eye emergency, please contact our Americus office of Regional Eye Center for urgent assistance.
